Clermont Lounge

789 Ponce de Leon Ave NE
Clermont Lounge

The Clermont Lounge is Atlanta's oldest strip club. Located in the basement of the Clermont Motor Hotel on Ponce De Leon. The Clermont offers great entertainment, generous drinks and much, much more.

Many celebrities frequent the Clermont. The Clermont has received verbal praises from such stars as Kid Rock, Marilyn Manson, and Jon Stewart.

Everyone from Anthony Bourdain to Jennifer Lawrence has made it a point to visit (and rave about) the basement strip joint beneath a Ponce de Leon Avenue motel.

You will often see many celebrities here enjoying the magic.

Although the basement space began life in 1955 as an upscale supper club, it was reborn as the Clermont in 1965 and became an Atlanta landmark.

As of 2018, the “motel” looks different, thanks to a multi-million-dollar renovation, which re-launched the property as Hotel Clermont, complete with a rooftop bar, swanky rooms and Tiny Lou’s, a French restaurant.

Clermont Lounge is more of a dive bar than a swanky gentlemen’s lounge. In fact, it’s consistently ranked as one of the coolest dive bars in the world.

Just see the age and talents of the strippers for proof. One of the most famous, Blondie, is 55 years old, a poet, artist, and dancer known to crush beer cans between her breasts.

Why go: Yes, the exotic dancers are all-natural and many are older than you’d expect, crush beer cans with their ta-tas and change in the customer restrooms.

Naked ladies aside, the Clermont Lounge has a gritty, raunchy, “real Atlanta” allure that’s hard to describe unless you see it up close.

You never know who you may bump into!
